The Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Local Airbnb Assistant to join our on-the-ground operations team. This part-time, flexible position is ideal for someone seeking supplemental income who resides in the East Bay area (near Hayward, Fremont, or Newark). You will serve as our primary local presence, ensuring our properties are meticulously maintained and that guest issues are resolved swiftly and professionally.
Responsibilities
Scheduled Property Visits:
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to verify cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld
- Check and replenish water softener salt levels across all properties on a regular schedule
- Proactively monitor and replace batteries in smart locks to prevent guest lockouts
- Ensure all supply closets are properly stocked with linens and paper goods
On-Demand Troubleshooting:
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc guest issues such as lockouts or WiFi connectivity problems
- Perform minor DIY fixes including unjamming garbage disposals, resetting tripped electrical panels, and basic plumbing tasks
- Assist guests with property-specific nuances such as navigating parking coordination systems
Showings & Vendor Coordination:
- Conduct in-person showings of available rooms for prospective new residents
- Be present on-site to meet vendors, repair technicians, and service personnel as needed
Communication & Coordination:
- Maintain clear and timely communication with the remote management team via WhatsApp
- Log and track maintenance tasks in Asana, keeping records up to date after each visit
- Update shared Google Docs and Google Sheets as needed to reflect property status and completed work
- Report property conditions and escalate complex issues to the Lead Property Manager
- Interact warmly and professionally with any guests encountered during site visits
Requirements
- Must reside in or immediately adjacent to the East Bay area (Hayward, Fremont, or Newark)
- Valid driver's license and ownership of a reliable personal vehicle
- Flexible schedule accommodating both planned weekly maintenance visits and occasional urgent, on-demand tasks
- Comfortable performing basic home maintenance and DIY tasks
- Comfortable using task management tools (Asana), Google Sheets, and Google Docs for logging work and updating records
- Able to accurately file timesheets and log mileage for reimbursement on a regular basis
- Sufficient tech proficiency to use WhatsApp and basic smart home devices (smart locks, Nest thermostats)
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and independent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in property management, hospitality, or professional maintenance or property services
- Familiarity with the Hayward, Fremont, Union City, or Newark neighborhoods
